Good morning Tiretown family,
I want to thank everyone who helped make the 7th annual Tiretown Junior Tournament fundraiser a success. A field of 60 players — including eight junior members — played through the mist and rain at Mud Run Golf Course to help raise funds for Tiretown Golf Charities and the junior golf program.
Congratulations to the winning team of Bob Miller, Carl Miller, Al Bragg and Tony Bishop. And thanks to Les Carter, who donated $100 of his 50/50 raffle winnings. The proximity winners included Diana Millirons, Brooklyn Berkowitz, Gracelyn Berkowitz, Ricky Smith,
Also, thanks to the Tiretown members who made donations and/or purchased hole signs for the event. Your generous contributions will help our organization to continue its support of juniors participating in First Tee of Akron and help us expand Tiretown’s junior enrichment programming.

NOGC Event @ Good Park Golf Course
Thanks to Tiretown members who participated in the Northern Ohio Golf Charities and Foundation fundraiser at Good Park on Sunday. The team of Les Carter, Willie McCall, Tony Banks and Ralph Paulk captured first place with a 8-under, 63. The team of Michael Goode, Chris Mitchell, Diahnna Curtis and Les Carney fired a 5-under 66 to place fourth.
Tiretown Scholarship Banquet @ Firestone Country Club
The 8th Annual Tiretown Scholarship Banquet will be held October 17 at Firestone Country Club, beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets are $40 and tables (8 seats) are $310. Members who wish to volunteer with the banquet please contact Marilyn Miller Paulk, who is copied to this email.
Additionally, please encourage local businesses to purchase full-page advertisements for the program booklet ($250 color; $150). The deadline to submit ads is Oct. 9.
Upcoming Tiretown Club Meeting
The next club meeting will be held Saturday, Oct. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Alpha Center (662 Wolf Ledges Parkway).
