The 8th Annual Tiretown Scholarship Banquet will be held October 17 at Firestone Country Club, beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets are $40 and tables (8 seats) are $310. Members who wish to volunteer with the banquet please contact Marilyn Miller Paulk at mmpaulk@yahoo.com
Additionally, please encourage local businesses to purchase full-page advertisements for the program booklet ($250 color; $150). The deadline to submit ads is Oct. 9.
Tiretown has confirmed that Kevin Dorsey will serve as the keynote speaker for the 8th annual Tiretown Scholarship Banquet at Firestone Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 am.
Mr. Dorsey, a graduate of Akron East High School, is an actor, singer, voice artist and accomplished music director who has worked with a number of high-profile, successful artist — including a 25 year history working alongside Michael Jackson. He’s collaborated with Quincy Jones and Dolly Pardon, Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney and so many more. His films include the Lion King, the Princess Diaries 2, the Jungle Book, the Flintstones, the Little Mermaid and so much more. He is also a member of the Emmy’s Board of Regents and the Screen Actors Guild.
