Tiretown Golf Charities Awarded $30,000 PGA TOUR Champion of 2025
Tiretown Junior Club reemerges in 2018 with a core group of eight members. In 2026, the membership has grown to more than 50 members – including high school graduates who are now excelling in college.
The impact of our members has extended far beyond the game of golf. Our juniors also serve as ambassadors of our 76-year-old organization. Their service to the community includes volunteer opportunities such as the Kaulig Companies Championships at Firestone Country Club and the Senior Summit event, which is held bi-annually.
Tiretown Junior Golf Club members participate in classes and programs at First Tee of Greater Akron at Mud Run Golf Course. Tiretown Golf Charities funds the First Tee scholarships for its members and other boys and girls in the Akron area.
Members also have the opportunity to compete in competitive events in Summit County. Our members compete in junior tournaments – including three 2026 tournaments at Mud Run Golf course, which serves as the Junior Golf Club’s home course.
Golf Programming, Volunteerism, Academics
It’s the mission of the Junior Golf Club and Tiretown Golf Charities to support boys and girls in the Akron Area to participate in various sports.
We are committed to providing financial assistance to at-risk students and others who qualify for youth funding. While golf is our primary focus, Tiretown sponsors athletes in various sports – boxing, bowling, soccer, football, basketball. Our scholarship programs are funded by Tiretown Golf Charities, which was named the PGA Tour Champions Charity of the Year in 2024.
