2025 Golf Season Rules of Play for the Tiretown Golf Club

Rules of Play for The 2025 Golf Season

Tire Town Golf Club

As chairman of the Rules committee, I am recommending to the Club the following rules of play for our play days and Club Championship.

We will abide by the USGA rules of golf with the following modifications.

TEES

Anyone at the age of 65 and over may play the senior tees.

All others will play the regular tees as designated by the tournament director.

The ladies will play the further up tees.

Anyone of the age of 80 and a handicap of 15 or more may play from the up tees

If there are no senior tees the seniors will be allowed to play ten yards in front of the regular tees.

The seniors will be allowed to play the senior tees in the Club Championship if they desire.

Any discussion on what tees to play the final decision will fall into the hands of the tournament director.

FAIRWAY AND ROUGH PLAY

We will play by the winter rule which allows you to move the ball 6 inches.

OUT OF BOUNDS

You may drop with one penalty stroke at the point where the ball went out of bounds.

SAND TRAPS

We will play the ball out of the traps. If there is no rake for the trap or the trap has excess water, you may take your ball out of the trap and drop it behind the trap with no penalty.

FREE DROPS

You will be allowed a free drop with no penalty if your ball is in a flower bed, ground under repair, a tree root, or a puddle of water in the fairway or rough.

PUTT OUT RULE

You may pick up your putt if the distance is one foot or less. Everything else must be putted out. For the Club Championship all putts must be putted out. Failure to putt out will result in a two-stroke penalty.

PACE OF PLAY

It is important that you keep up with the group ahead of you. If you fall more than a hole behind, you may be asked to skip a hole to catch up. In that case each player will receive a bogey score for the hole.

PICK UP RULE

To get through rounds in a timely manner you are asked to pick up when your score reaches triple bogey.

READY GOLF

Please be ready to hit your ball when it is your turn to hit.

Respectfully Submitted
