Good evening Tiretown family,
I want to thank all of you who attended and/or supported the Tiretown Scholarship Banquet on Saturday. It was a splendid event to celebrate our 75th anniversary. The highlight was an awe-inspiring keynote speech by Dr. Aaron Palmer, a neurosurgeon and product of Akron Public Schools (East High School).
Your presence is indicative of the commitment required to achieve our goals of delivering on the promise of helping the young men and women in our communities to thrive academically.
And thanks to the members who volunteered on both Friday and Saturday to help with setup at Firestone Country Club. Also, we appreciate the members who offered their time to help with cleanup after the banquet.
- Again, congratulations to our seven scholarship recipients and two junior Case CLC scholars.
- We applaud our Distinguished Service Award winners: Dave Brown and the Fund Development Committee (Marilyn Miller Paulk, Gwen Bryant, Theresa Fennell, Glynis Miller Mitchell, Kelly Edwards, Janice McClain, Darlene Elliott).
- Congratulations to Tiretown Golf Club champions: Tony Banks (Low Gross), Larry Thomas (Low Net), Diahnna Curtis (Flight C), Tim Ramsey (Flight B), Ralph Paulk (Flight A).
As a reminder, the next club meeting will be held Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Alpha Center. It’s Election Day for Tiretown, and members interested in placing a nomination, please contact Nominating Committee chair Bill Alford, who is copied on this email. Candidate for the following positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. We encourage all members to attend. Your vote and voice matters as we look to strengthen our organization.
